The "Liberty Tree" Society, sponsored by Elm Research Institute, is an organization dedicated to the celebration of the "Liberty Tree". The story of the "Liberty Tree" is the story of America’s first Declaration of Independence. Influential men like Sam Adams and John Hancock were members of the "Sons of Liberty". They often met beneath the sheltering branches of a great American elm, known as the "Liberty Tree". There they planned the rebellion which became the Revolution. Their flag, the Liberty Tree Flag, was flown from the "Liberty Tree" during their meetings.
